About
Sometimes, on certain occasions, I may happen to choose to call myself an illustrator. In other times, I call myself “the artist with no art” due to how little documentation I keep of my work. Why? Because at this stage of my artistic journey I value personal development more than building up an audience.
In art, just like in life, I embrace a “Screw around and find out” attitude, and I tend look forward to where it may lead with a fair share of optimism. My approach embodies exploration, and the subject I work with is illustration in all its versatility. I achieve it by experimenting with techniques such as digital drawing, a bit of 3D modelling, and as of recently – film-making and video editing. This does make my style often dependent on what medium I am using, but personally, I don’t see this as a weakness. After all, I would want to discover my artistic voice by exploring and trying out different things, not by settling down on what feels comfortable and safe.
While I do prioritize exploration at this point, my end goal is to discover how to combine these different techniques into a cohesive whole. I draw inspiration from many sources, and although my work may not be sophisticated, my main aim throughout it all is to always tell a story that a viewer can understand. Storytelling is a genuine interest of mine, and while I do enjoy learning about the technicalities of a new program or an artstyle, I do want all this research to be in service of something genuine, something that could touch a person’s heart.
